Let Grow Play Club at Arrowhead Elementary
Play. Make friends. Figure things out.
Let Grow Play Club gives kids the chance to make their own fun, solve their own problems, and spend time playing with friends—with adults nearby to provide a safe environment, but not to organize the play or referee every disagreement.
It’s a chance for kids to practice independence, creativity, collaboration, and resilience through something that comes naturally to them: play.
Play Club: Thursdays from 3:30-5:00pm
Location: Arrowhead Playground
Fall session: September 24 – November 12

Session Dates
Sessions are 8 weeks long, and families register separately for each session. Registration opens shortly before the start of each session.
Fall session: September 24–November 12 — Arrowhead Playground
Winter session: January 14–March 11 — Arrowhead Gym (no Play Club February 18 for mid-winter break)
Spring session: April 15–June 3 — Arrowhead Playground
What is Let Grow Play Club?
What happens when we give kids more opportunities to figure things out for themselves?
That’s the idea behind Let Grow Play Club.
Play Club is built around unstructured, child-led play. There aren’t adults running games, planning activities, or stepping in to solve every disagreement. Instead, kids have the opportunity to decide what to do, negotiate with one another, try things, make mistakes, and work things out.
That might look like a game of tag, building something out of cardboard, inventing a new game, kicking a ball around—or simply figuring out what to do when someone says, “I don’t want to play that.”
The adults are there to supervise and help keep kids safe. The kids are there to play.

How Can I Help?
Play Club works best when families pitch in!
Volunteer
We are looking for parent/guardian volunteers to help supervise Play Club. Adults provide a safe, welcoming environment while giving kids room to take the lead in their own play.
More volunteers = more kids able to participate.
No special experience is needed—just a willingness to be present, supervise, and let the kids do the playing.
Share Some Loose Parts
Have extra balls, hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, jump ropes, cardboard boxes, buckets, or other kid-friendly items gathering dust in your garage?
We’d love to give them a second life at Play Club!
We’re especially interested in simple, open-ended materials that kids can use in lots of different ways. A cardboard box can become a fort, a goal, a store, a robot—or something we haven’t even thought of yet!
We’re always looking for new-to-us things that kids can explore and use in their own creative ways at Play Club. If you have something you think might be a good fit, contact us at playclub@ptaarrowhead.org before bringing items to school.
