Clay Docent Program
What is the Clay Docent Program?
The Clay Docent Program is a beloved tradition at Arrowhead Elementary, bringing hands-on art enrichment to every classroom. Powered by PTA volunteers, the program gives students the opportunity to explore the world of clay through creative, curriculum-enhancing projects throughout the school year.
Why It Matters:
Art education supports creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence. The Clay Docent Program helps students express themselves, build something from scratch, and feel pride in their creations. With your help, this program continues to thrive at every grade level.
Volunteer Clay Docent Responsibilities:
No art experience needed—just a willingness to help and have fun!

✔️ Coordinate with your teacher to schedule 2 clay lessons per year (1 sculpting, 1 glazing)

✔️ Manage clay materials and tools before and after the lesson
✔️ Encourage creativity and make it fun for students!
Program Goals:
- Introduce students to the art of clay and sculpture
