Congratulations to Andrew Roumelis, our geography bee champion!!  Wish Andrew luck as he prepares for a 70 question written test to compete in the regional bee. 

I want to express my sincere thanks to Lorinda Hines for teaching the class, preparing the lesson plans, and bringing so many neat puzzles, handouts and items.....as well as her infectious enthusiasm.  She was amazing!

Erin Young and Karen Smith were the helper Elves every week - thanks!

Great thanks to the PTA for their generous support of time and resources - especially Laura Nordyke who served as our liaison and was very patient with me.

And we truly could not have started or completed the process without the support of Principal Moore and the guidance of Gordon Burke, who coordinated the rest of the teachers.  You are the best!

Finally, these activities are a success because you encourage your child to try new things and to stretch themselves.  Thank YOU Parents!

YEE HAW!!! On behalf of the Arrowhead PTA, I would like to thank the parents, students, and many, many helpers from our Arrowhead community for the abundance of support that helped make the 2011 Read-a-Thon Rodeo a success:

Our Arrowhead Cowgirls: Nan Pardew, Jeanne Leasure, Candace Coalman, Kay Nakajima, and Caroline Ulm -for both kicking off the Read-a-Thon and distributing awards at the closing assembly.  You helped make it so much fun for the kids!!

Envelope stuffers:  Chris Brashler, Bill and Jen Scott, Jill Allerman, and Amy Koppelman - for enduring the paper cuts so we could get the information out to the kids.

“Tuesday Turn In” helpers: Nan Pardew and Lauri Ellis – for handing out prizes and helping total the thousands of minutes!

Money Counters: Erin Person – for managing the initial turn-in day.  Nan Pardew, Jackie Suarez, Diana Koops, Jeanne Leasure, Caroline Ulm and Jen Scott – for helping with the money count.

PTA Exec. Team:  Cindy Jensen, Laura Nordyke, Jackie Suarez, Patty Johnson , and Rose Aliverti – for assisting with the fundraising process and prize drawings.

Artists: Kay Nakajima – for designing and making all 14 classroom goal posters - the kids loved them! Michelle McKenzie  –  for your artistry on the beautiful progress banner.

Advertising: Angela Cummings – for continually updating the PTA Web site!

Assembly:  Kelly Web – for orchestrating the assembly. Fernell Miller  –  for your fantastic choreography and teaching the line dance to our teachers.

THE ARROWHEAD STAFF for that AWESOME LINE DANCE!! Wow – that was really entertaining!! I also appreciate the support you gave in the classrooms by reminding the kids to record their minutes and turn in the goal sheets. It made a difference!!

Thanks to our amazing Arrowhead PTA families! Because of you, our exceptional teachers and staff enjoyed a great luncheon today. If you can believe it, we had TWENTY-FIVE volunteers who worked together to provide donated items, food and services that all came together to deliver a lovely and delicious lunch. The staff were all so grateful! Not to mention that your generosity and helpfulness made my first staff appreciation event a true pleasure to coordinate.

Huge thanks to Jeanne Leasure for tonight’s fantastic and super well attended Ice Cream Social. What a great night to cool off with Ice Cream, meet new faces and visit with old friends. Jeanne, we really appreciate all of your hard work and planning efforts to execute such a fun and smooth event.

Jackie & Rose, the New Family Dinner in the library was superb and the pennants looked great and were a huge hit! Thank you for all your efforts to coordinate and feed such a large group.

Principal Moore, thank you for all of your support. It is greatly appreciated and helps keep the organization strong.

Mr. Burke, thank you so much for your assistance tonight and please extend our warmest thanks to All of the teachers for their help.

Frank, thank you for the homemade ice cream! Unfortunately we never even made it to that side of the gym to try your yummy creations before it was gone…we know it was great though!

To All of our Awesome Committee Chairs – there were so many of you out there tonight helping communicate your programs and events. We can’t thank YOU enough for your time staffing your tables and showing everyone what great programs and events the PTA has to offer.
