Arrowhead Elementary is often referred to as a small school with a big heart.  Our PTA promotes the welfare of all students by providing staff support, fostering teacher, parent, and community cooperation, and enriching student learning.  Some of the amazing programs our PTA has funded include purchasing African drums for the music department, providing over $7000 in classroom funds annually, and making sure those that need scholarships have them.  PTA is the largest and oldest child advocacy organization in the country.  Our voice can be heard locally, regionally, and nationally supporting parent involvement and working on behalf of all children and families.  We hope all families take pride in our kids and community and show their support through their PTA membership to help make our voice even stronger.

Bastyr Auditorium

Jan 28th, 3:00pm and 7:00pm

 

Tickets are $5 for anybody 5 years and older.  If you are under 4, lucky you because you are free.  Bring your family and friends.  It's a great event and the kids have been working hard all week.  The Bastyr University Auditorium is on the main campus – not over by the seminary/pool.

Time for Nominations

 

There are many people in our PTA who go above beyond for the children at Arrowhead.   Washington State.  PTA has 3 formal awards that a local unit can use to recognize an individual for ongoing and outstanding volunteerism.  In each case, the recipient(s) will receive a pin, a certificate and a donation will be made in their name to the WA State PTA Scholarship fund.  If you know of someone you would like to nominate, fill out the following form and submit in the Golden Acorn box in the office by March 1st, 2012.

Things to Keep in Mind

 

Write a Washington State PTA Men's Essay - have your child write about a men's influence in their life.  Wrap it up and give it as a gift for the Holidays and send it onto the state PTA.  Who knows, the essay may be chosen as best in the state.  An Arrowhead Student won the 3rd - 4th grade essay division last year.  Check out the site for more details.  Submissions due March 1, 2012

 

Have your Family Plan a Science Fair Demo Station  - Make science a family affair!  At the science fair on March 23rd, there will be 4 demo/participation stations run by families.  Each family will have a $50 budget but we can only take 4 ideas.  See the Science Fair website for more information.
